"<div>在過去交通技術不發達的時期,人類僅能以自己親眼所見,搭配口耳相傳的消息建構出自己所生活的社會樣貌,再利用手中的畫筆記錄世界。</div><div>我們深受古人們描繪珍奇異獸的作品吸引,細節的雕琢、物種的寓意、色彩的運用⋯⋯,都讓我們歎為觀止。</div><div>面對這些不熟悉的生物,往往以想像力補足缺失的訊息,憑藉手藝的進步,藝術的載具從文字、繪畫,更近一步到工藝器物上,古人對於世界的想像轉為實體,成為流傳世世代代的不朽藝術。這些兼有美與功能的偉大傑作,一方面滿足了文人的雅興,另一方面也是後世得以一窺過往的重要報告。</div><div><br></div><div>因此我們根據文物中圖像繪製的各種目的,展覽依序以:「文字」、「宗教」、「物器」、「真實存在」四個展區,展示這些文物藝術中對珍禽異獸的珍貴紀錄。</div><div>展件內容包括以動物為主軸,並以不同載具為分類,以文字對動物的敘述作為展覽序幕。第二展區以宗教渲染的視角所建構的動物樣貌,富有魔幻色彩。</div><div>第三展區是藝術躍然於物器上,細節的裝飾,讓人歎為觀止。以《坤輿全圖》為例,17世紀以歐洲觀點,結合中西交流的知識,由傳教士南懷仁轉譯繪製的世界地圖。第四展區展示的過去可靠的資訊,流傳後世的寶貴物種。觀眾可以將書畫中記錄的珍禽異獸和真實世界的動物作比較,沈浸在古人對世界的想像。</div>",
