盛裝打扮的阿美族男女

[英文]The dresses in this picture are for special occasions, especially for the ceremony of becoming an adult. The man wears a huge hat decorated with feathers which are from white crows. He also has white earrings, possibly made of shells. His white necklace is made of rectangular shells or bones from animals. Below his waist, he wears white tassels and red pants. The woman standing beside him wears a hat. Before she puts on the hat, she has to wrap her hair with a black cloth, then decorate the hat with silver flowers and such. The decoration in front of the woman$s chest is made of several necklaces. She has tassels both at her waist and legs. These two people are from Ami tribe residing in Lidau village in the northern part of Hualien County in Taiwan (NCL).
